Smooth Transition of Care.

Orchid is always on-call to help you navigate the home care process and arrange optimal care for injured workers’ evolving medical needs. Employing a holistic approach, we serve as an extension of your claims management team offering clinical expertise in helping to ensure injured workers have a smooth transition of care to their homes. The overriding goal of Orchid is helping injured workers get back to work and back to life quickly and cost-efficiently as possible.

Moving Forward. Working Together.

In every step of the recovery process, we work collaboratively with claim professionals, case managers and provider partners to deliver an integrated solution that expedites positive outcomes for injured workers and savings for our clients.

Clinical Expertise. At Home.

Orchid care coordinators work with you and our in-house complex care team comprised of certified Assistive Technology Professionals (ATP), registered nurse (RN), Certified Home Assessment and Modification Professionals (CHAMP), Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), and rehabilitation specialists to arrange appropriate and cost-effective home health services through our national network of credentialed providers. Beyond home health, Orchid offers the efficiency and control of having all ancillary services, such as mobility equipment, home modifications and prosthetics coordinated by a single source.

Orchid understands that the discharge planning begins as soon as an injured worker is admitted to the hospital. With Orchid’s At Home ADVANCE™, a dedicated point-of-contact serves an extension of the nurse case manager (NCM) to coordinate the injured worker’s post discharge needs in advance. From hospital admission, we are in frequent contact with the physician and hospital NCM working behind the scene to arrange the appropriate home care services, rehabilitative care, home and vehicle modifications and home medical equipment the injured worker may need upon discharge in order to ensure a seamless transition from hospital to home. This program is designed to capture the prescribed ancillary services needs of the injured worker in network and to facilitate their discharge. In addition to the network savings for ancillary services, this program alleviates unnecessary hospital stays which can range from $5,000 to $10,000 per night depending on the level of care.  This proactive approach helps to ensure a timely discharge and eliminates out-of-network and unexpected costs.
